Back from a fabulous launch in London of the Young David Book apps. I was interviewed live on Premier Radio by Maria Rodrigues on the day of the launch. Amazing to think these stories that started simply as a children’s talk in my local church have now gone global!!!!! For two more days only you can download your free copy of David and the Hairy Beast where, in addition to having a narrated story, you can interact with the characters and move them around the page. My favourite bit is when you can sheer a sheep and fire a catapult at a hairy beast! Download your free copy for iPad here.
A review of David and the Hairy Beast by 6-year-old Alice Grant. “I liked David because he was really brave. I liked the jobs of the brothers and sisters, especially Abigail. The setting of the book is in the dark, the dark is a bit scary and so it’s a really good setting for a scary beast. I love this book.”
Thank you Alice!
If you want to know what Alice is talking about, you can order your own Hairy Beast here. Crafty Publishing are offering free UK postage up until Christmas Eve. And if you ask very nicely, I will sign the book to you or your loved one.
I will be reading from my new book, David and the Giant, at CLC Bookshop, Newcastle on Saturday 4 August at 2pm. Bring along your 3 – 7 year-old sprogs. There will be juice, biscuits and colouring. Please share this with anyone you know with children / nieces / nephews/ grandchildren in that age bracket who live in and around the Newcastle area.
If you haven’t yet managed to get your hands on the first two books, David and the Hairy Beast and David and the Kingmaker, they will also be available to purchase on the day, signed by the author. If you can’t make it to the reading, you can buy the books from Amazon and many other bookshops around the UK.
Here’s a little sneak peek of one of the pages from the book:
